**Who you are**:
You know success as a Security Awareness Officer requires collaboration - with team members, outside sources, or across the organization. You use your active listening and strong communication skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues alike, whether leading a project, providing training, or representing the CNSC on interdepartmental committees.

Providing great service to your clients is important to you. You recognize that to communicate effectively, you need to reach audiences at all levels, a skill you have used to educate and inform with great success.

You are adept at researching and collecting information and synthesizing the results. Naturally curious and analytical, you actively seek opportunities to improve and innovate.

**What you'll do**:
As Security and Awareness Officer, you’ll be developing and delivering a security and safety awareness program across the CNSC, informing and training employees on security best practices, and monitoring the effectiveness of the program.

You’ll be enhancing ongoing security awareness initiatives, as well as leading the development and review of Security policies and plans and supporting security initiatives and projects by conducting research and analysis of issues and trends, producing various written communications, and ensuring effective and timely implementation.

**Essential Qualifications**:
**Education**:
College Diploma in Security Management or an equivalent combination of education (minimum high school diploma), and relevant experience and job knowledge.

**Language Requirements**:
Bilingual imperative with proficiency at BBB level. If you are unsure of your proficiency level, we encourage you to self-assess here

**Experience**:

- Developing and/or implementing corporate security awareness programs and related initiatives
- Providing advice, presentation, briefings, guidance and recommendations to employees and management related to security issues
- Delivering training or education sessions to employees
- Leading interdepartmental security committees

**Knowledge**:

- Best practices in security learning and awareness
- Roles and responsibilities of lead federal security, emergency and law enforcement departments/agencies, organizations
- Government of Canada Security Policy

**Ability to**:

- Communicate effectively orally and in writing, with the ability to adapt to all audiences

**Asset Qualification**:

- Ability to develop and maintain security awareness modules
- Experience in preparing, reviewing and updating corporate security policies instruments and procedures
- Certified Security Awareness Practitioner (CSAP)
