**Position Title**:Workforce Development Specialist - Advanced Leadership Program

**Reporting to**: Manager, Workforce Development & Employer Engagement and Outreach

**Working Hours**: This position has a regular work week of 35 hours per week. Hours of work will be determined by the employer, but operational hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position requires some work during evenings and weekends.

**Work Location**: 128A Sterling Road, Toronto, ON. This is an in-person position which requires regular travel to the office.

**Hourly Rate**: $29.04

**Position Summary**:
We are seeking a self-motivated and results-driven individual to build, strengthen, and sustain relationships with employers by connecting them to immigrant women talent through a range of employer-focused programs and innovative initiatives that support their workforce needs and advance the successful labour market integration and outcomes of newcomer women in Ontario. You will assist employers to connect with qualified newcomer women, to recruit, retain and develop a diverse workforce and access programs, resources, HR tools and labour market information. In addition, you will also support newcomer women through conducting needs assessments to better understand their needs and career aspirations, and through providing them with career coaching and development. This role is required to match immigrant women to employers for paid internships and employment opportunities.

**Responsibilities**
- Work with the Manager of Workforce Development to develop an employer outreach and engagement strategy, including targets and deliverables, to secure internships and employment opportunities for newcomer women in our program.
- Establish new employer contacts and strengthen current employer contacts through outreach activities such as cold calls, mass mailings, social media, and individual employer visits.
- Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders from different sectors and industries.
- Undertake period environmental scans to identify high growth/demand sectors and organizations to generate new leads.
- Match newcomer women’s interests, skills and experience to job leads, assess suitability for positions, forward resumes, coordinate interviews with client and employer, and follow-up to determine next steps.
- Meet with employers and assess suitability of the workplace.
- Proactively seek out opportunities to collaborate with employers on new initiatives to maintain and deepen engagement.
- Function as a trusted consultant for employers to identify solutions to challenges related to immigrant hiring and retention.
- Negotiate financial incentives with employers based on skill requirement, on-the-job training available, transferable work experience, growth opportunities and/or skill level/employability assessments of participants.
- Outreach to employers to identify opportunities in the “hidden” job market.
- Maintain contact with client and employer throughout placement and for scheduled follow-ups at 3, 6 and 9 months to encourage employment maintenance. Also, maintain contact with clients not yet placed, continuing to search for employment opportunities and provide ongoing support.
- Maintain client case files in compliance with the program guidelines and requirements; monitor clients’ progress with ongoing follow-up; produce statistical documentation.
- Meet or exceed contractual employment outcomes and experiential learning targets, completing and submitting required statistical information on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Plan, organize and host employer engagement events and activities including Information Sessions, recruitment events, Career Fairs and Galas.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of employers satisfaction and impact surveys.

**Minimum Requirements**
- An undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Marketing or Business Administration is required
- 3 years work experience in recruitment/business development
- Thorough knowledge of all facets of job search and career development, workplace practices, job search strategies and techniques including an understanding of labour market trends and resources.
- Proven experience in nonprofit business development.
- Strong track record of managing large scale projects with multiple stakeholders involved.
- Demonstrated success in building and growing relationships with a diverse range of organizations and stakeholders.
- Metrics-driven with a track record of success in meeting or exceeding targets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong research and data analysis skills and ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage time effectively and coordinate multiple activities
