**A Day in the Life **

The Research Assistant will work with the Primary Investigator to coordinate, and mobilize research and research activities associated with the injury prevention clinical intervention, and implementation science research group (I3 group). The Research Assistant will support the research project activities across a project’s life cycle. This includes technical support, grant writing, proposal development, ethics submissions, logístical planning, SOP development, recruitment, data collection, data cleaning, data management, data analysis, manuscript writing and integrated knowledge translation.

**As the** **Research Assistant you will**:

- Collaborate and provide organizational support to the principle investigator(s) to formulate and develop strategic research plan;
- Coordinate research activities associated with the design, collection, management, analysis, translation, and publication of research projects;
- Deliver training workshops on research tools, software and methods to Research Assistants and faculty (e.g., quantitative analysis, digital methods etc.);
- Conduct periodic presentations outlining the project and its status to internal and external stakeholders;
- Coordinate the analysis, translation, and publication of research projects;
- Perform data extractions and develops quality processes for data collection and entry;
- Serve as a key representative and contact person for the project;
- Organize and participate in campus and community events, including coordinating event logistics and giving presentations.

**What you need to Succeed**
- Master's degree in injury epidemiology, injury prevention, or a related field;
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience as a research coordinator/research assistant in injury prevention, public health, or health sciences research;
- Previous experience contributing to grant writing and publishing scientific manuscripts;
- A high degree of confidentiality is necessary in dealing with research data concerning personal information;
- High level of effective time and project management, personal initiative, and teamwork;
- Basic knowledge and skills in statistics and statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS) for data management and analysis;
- Understanding of research methods applied to epidemiology;
- Ability to consult and collaborate with external funding bodies, internal and external stakeholders, research and community partners, faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, students, and other relevant unit Managers and staff (including staff at academic organizations and journals);
- Excellent time management, the ability to adapt to continuous changes and shifting in priorities
- Strong data management and analytic skills.

**Preferred or Asset Skills **
- Knowledge of injury mechanisms and classifications;
- Clinical evaluation skills;
- Experience and proficiency with Red Cap Data Management;
- Experience with qualitative research and use of NVIVO;
- Experience with mixed-method research;
- Background in sports as a participant, coach, and/or referee;
- Previous experience managing, conducting, and overseeing investigator-initiated grant-funded research projects as a research coordinator or research assistant in Sports Injury Prevention and/or a related field;
- Experience and understanding of Human Ethics;
- French language skills;
- Experience working with community sports organizations; and
- Experience with statistics and proficiency in the STATA statistical analysis program is desirable.
