- Reporting to the Commissioner of Film and Media, the Film and Media Coordinator is the first point of contact for the Kingston Film and Media team at Tourism Kingston. The Film and Media Coordinator maintains a proactive, collaborative, and engaging approach to tourism and/or industry development as required. Work requires a specialized professional competence with a broad understanding of Kingston and the organizations industry inter-relationships. The incumbent has a demonstrated track record of relationship-building, project management, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate and oversee productions._
- The Film and Media Coordinator can execute projects independently with the ability to take lead with little direction. Using sound judgement, the Coordinator can deescalate complex issues and notify management when additional support is required._

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operations_
- Research, compile and facilitate location and resource options for productions.
- Coordinate frequently scheduled community workshops and events, including on-site operations.
- Administer film permits.
- Oversee and maintain the ReelScout database.
- Perform monthly accounting/reconciling for the Film Office
- Assist with the creation of marketing, communication and promotional materials including LinkedIn.
- Assist in external communications, including monthly newsletter.
- Monitor daily progress of projects and productions currently in the pipeline.
- Provide feedback on continuous improvement to ensure efficient operations.
- Effectively communicate with partners and internal team members to ensure a positive experience.
- Research, compile, and present data in an organized and user-friendly manner.
- Prioritize tasks and projects at hand to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Support on additional administrative duties and projects as assigned.
- Production_
- Accompany and assist with location scout tours.
- Supervise and assist on-site productions.
- Liaise with locations, partners and suppliers.
- Photograph, and archive locations for promotion, and oversee Provincial Locations Library submissions
- Utilizes knowledge and relationships with the local production community to facilitate potential job opportunities for upcoming productions.
- Coordinates with the City to arrange for support services such as fire, police, ambulance, if and when needed
- Creates and manages safety and logístical contingency plans for any productions that work with the film and media office

EDUCATION
A degree in Arts Administration, Film and Media, Project Management, Business Administration or related field.

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 3+ years of experience working in film production, project management or administration. Must poses a valid driver’s license, and reliable vehicle. A demonstrated broad-based knowledge of the film and media industry both locally, domestic, and internationally. Strong knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas is a major asset.
