**Job Summary**:
Provides support to the Systems Planning and Evaluation team in the Children's Services division related to the implementation of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care system.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Conduct research and analysis of various early learning and child care Regional, Provincial or Federal policy and advocacy issues assist with the development of briefing and resource material as required.
- Respond to research requests as needed.
- Monitor relevant legislation and provide summaries.
- Review and synthesizes relevant information by conducting on-line research and reviewing and summarizing reports.
- Collect and analyze data from early years and child care programs to support effective oversight and service system planning
- Gather, review and synthesize processes and procedures to create a consistent standard and inventory.
- Communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners and use excellent problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution techniques.
- Review reports and prepare summaries.
- Act as a backup to daily monitoring of emerging issues.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Degree in public administration, political science or a related field.
- Minimum two years’ experience in government.
- Knowledge of the working and programs of Regional, Provincial and Federal governments.
- Excellent research, verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly analytical, organized, resourceful and adaptable.
- Strong project management skills, good understanding of data analytics and political acuity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
