**Data Scientist Co-Op/Intern**:
**Job location**: our office in _Ottawa, Canada_

Term length: 4 or 8 months starting September 2023

**About the team**:
Provide easy access to consistent high-quality information, insights, & foresight to drive action.

The Data Specialist will be a key member in the Data Department. The Data Specialist will monitor performance and quality control, identify and develop improvements in data, processes, and technical environment. He/her will also participate in the creation of the data available for user, design and implement dashboards in a way that will enhance the information available on the company.

**What you will do**:

- Collaborate with team members (Data Architects, Data Engineers, Data Analysts) to develop and implement data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Support the Analytics & Business Intelligence platform by providing administration duties and analyzing usage
- Participate on the Analytics & Business Intelligence duties, by creating all the necessary elements involved in the development of data solutions
- Develop/Enhance our testing processes and procedures
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports/analysis
- Help automate processes and procedures for scalability and efficiencies
- May perform additional projects upon request

**What we are looking for**:

- BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Competent understating of relational databases and proficiency on SQL
- Understanding of ETL development
- Competent with visualization methodology and tools i.e., PowerBI, Tableau, Domo, etc
- Possession of problem-solving attitude
- Should have a strong suite of analytical skills
- Competent in the communication of results with the stakeholders and team using different storytelling techniques
- Competent with variety of Software development methodologies
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
