The Student Support & Case Management department helps students who are experiencing challenges get back to thriving by facilitating a coordinated response at both the individual and community level. We support students in navigating resources and making informed decisions.

**Responsibilities**:
The Behaviour Intervention & Conduct Case Manager coordinates the non-academic behaviour management and discipline process of the Western University community. Reporting to the Manager, Student Support & Case Management, the Behaviour Intervention & Conduct Case Manager directs and oversees investigations under the University Student Code of Conduct (non-academic).

The role receives complaints and undertakes investigation, adjudication and assignment of outcomes within the Western University Student Code of Conduct. Following the principals of procedural fairness, the role provides students the opportunity to understand and accept accountability. The Manager also creates and sustains an effective learning environment by designing educational sanctions and outcomes, based in restorative principles, which foster ethical development, personal accountability and contributes to the learning outcomes of the unit.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Undergraduate degree in, Psychology, Law, Criminology, or other related discipline
- Master's Degree is preferred
- Formal Mediation Certificate would be an asset
- Training in Violence Risk and Threat Assessment; Violence Response and Investigation preferred
- Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in behaviour management, conduct, or judicial affairs in a university setting
- Mediation experience and/or experience with alternative dispute resolution and resultative justice model
- Experience interacting and establishing credibility with multiple stakeholders and maintaining collaborative working relationships within a University setting preferred
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
- Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities
- Self-driven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
- High degree of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal and external clients at all levels of management
- Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations that are clearly linked to the organization's strategy and goals
- Ability to handle details with a high degree of accuracy and to organize and prioritize a high volume of work to meet deadlines
- Ability to identify and respond to contentious or politically sensitive issues with discretion
- Capacity to handle risk and uncertainty, while being decisive in ambiguous situations
