Kingston, Canada Home Base Housing Full time

The incumbent would be part of our team at the In From The Cold Emergency Shelter, providing emergency housing to adults and connecting them with services to find permanent housing.

Hours of work per week: 35

Pay Rate: $18/hour

Responsibilities will include:

- Screening for COVID-19 and assisting with rapid tests of all clients and guests upon entry;
- Organizing donations and taking inventory to determine needs;
- Conduct inventory of food/meal supplies and order to ensure enough stock for clients needs;
- Assist clients in shelter access various services;
- Daily shelter cleaning and organization as needed;
- Assist in administrative projects to support the Program Manager as required.

This opportunity is best suited for applicants currently attending a social services post-secondary program with the interest in working with marginalized communities.

This exchange can happen orally by speaking, listening and using non-verbal cues, such as body language or in writing. At work, people use communication skills to talk to customers, discuss products with suppliers, explain work procedures to co-workers, participate in virtual sales meetings with clients, and other activities that involve verbal or written exchanges.
