**Media Producer**:
**Primary Purpose**: Engage in the development and creation of new multimedia projects with campus constituents, affiliated partners, and educational entities, as well as, to produce professional quality media content through effective collaboration, scripting, creative and technical direction of a production team to create visual and audio elements appropriate to the requirements provided.

Evening, weekend work and travel are occasionally required. The incumbent must work effectively amidst the ever-changing landscape of media and technology and create a welcome atmosphere for collaboration. Discretion is required as this position is privy to sensitive and confidential information. Errors can significantly impact the reputation of the unit and the university.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:

- ** **To proactively engage and collaborate in the development of effective and innovative new audio/visual media projects with campus constituents, affiliated partners and research and educational entities.
- Oversee the production process to ensure assigned projects are completed to the satisfaction of the client and to a high standard of quality.
- Manage projects to completion in a timely manner and within approved budget.
- Pursue and maintain professional development in relevant emerging technologies for personal growth.
- Share production methodologies and best practices with university faculty, staff and researchers as requested.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with your team and campus collaborators.
- Supervise safety precautions to ensure the safety of all employees.

**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree relevant to the position requirements or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Licenses**: Include only if applicable. Authorization granted by a regulatory body which grants permission to do something.

**Experience**:
Minimum five years of experience in media production. Experience in a post-secondary setting is an asset.

**Skills**: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate project teams, set boundaries and expectations; proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment; excellent project management and problem solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to interact effectively with campus community partners while advancing the educational use of video and audio as the focus; aptitude for sound judgement and tact; demonstrated professional maturity and decisiveness; ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment; energetic, highly motivated and self-directed.
