The Sheridan Design and Illustration program areas provide professional and academic education for students desiring careers in Design, Illustration, and related sub-disciplines. Our students benefit from our highly accomplished and diverse faculty who teach a broad range of courses that represent a wide array of technologies and disciplines.

In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year, the programs in Design and Illustration maintain a pool of qualified persons interested in part-time instructor positions. What You’ll Be Doing

Selecting appropriate readings to support curriculum;
Ensuring that program and course curricula are current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines;
Creating an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles;
Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning;
Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the learning process.

About You

You have the skills and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse student and staff population as well as a proven commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion.

You are a student-centered individual with a passion for facilitating student success and enhancing the student experience.

Master’s degree and/or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment.

**Knowledge of online learning management software**: Sheridan professors use Slate (D2L Brightspace) to augment in-class course learning.

Depending on program or course needs there may be additional qualifications required.

**Campus Location**: Trafalgar (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus). This position is currently working on-site.

**Hourly Rate**: Based on relevant educational qualifications and experience

**Hours/Week**: 1 - 6 hours/week
