**The Opportunity**:
The UrbanAge Homes group of companies is looking for a part-time bookkeeper to work within its group of companies. Founded in 2012, UrbanAge specializes in new home construction in the Edmonton and surrounding area. Our other businesses all facilitate the residential construction process and include specialized companies for Renovations, Exterior Siding, and Drywall, insulation, taping and texture.

**Key Account Responsibilities and Functions**
- Bookkeeping Functions such as Accounts Payable (matching and coding invoices), Accounts Receivable (creation of sales invoices), Bank and Credit Card reconciliations, and Work-in-progress Inventory tracking and monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare, and review financial statements; collect, analyze, balance, and maintain account information to help maximize the accuracy of the reported numbers on a month-by-month basis and for year-end reporting.
- Prepare GST (monthly) and WCB (annual) returns.
- Maintain vendor accounts with supporting documentation and reconciliation of statements.
- Maintain financial records and filing.
- Additional ad hoc tasks as required.

**Skills and Qualification**:

- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience.
- A working knowledge of understanding of bookkeeping, accounts payable principles, and payroll processing.
- Experience working with bookkeeping softwares. Working knowledge of Simply Accounting (Sage50) is not required, however, is considered an asset;
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Schedule**:

- The position requires that the individual is in the office approximately 2 to 3 days per week, 8 hours per day. flexibility to start/end time provided;
**Compensation and Benefits**
- This position will pay an hourly rate based on experience.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
