The mission of the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) is to support Faculties and programs in providing high quality, innovative graduate programs, attracting high quality graduate students and postdoctoral trainees, and expanding graduate education and graduate professional development at Western.

**Responsibilities**:
The Program Coordinator (Graduate Program Design) is responsible for supporting the design, coordination, and operationalization of tools and services to ensure that graduate program expectations and requirements are transparent to graduate students, academic advisors, thesis supervisors, and other relevant graduate program personnel and stakeholders. The role will develop and maintain access to regular progression tracking, thus enabling efficient program delivery, quality assurance, and ongoing improvement in order to assist graduate students and graduate program leadership with the strategic objective that all Western University graduate degrees offer an effective graduate program design, which includes academic milestones and courses. The role is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of graduate courses and milestones within PeopleSoft in order to ensure continuity of degree requirements across programs and in adherence to IQAP approved program briefs. The role provides oversight to the program design process in a robust and interconnected way to ensure harmony between how programs are designed and administered.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
- Master’s or Professional Degree in a relevant discipline or professional experience preferred

**Experience**:
- 3 years’ experience coordinating projects in graduate education in a University administration environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge related to graduate program design and associated Western policies and procedures
- In-depth knowledge of best practices for case-based, competency-based, blended and on-line learning
- Exceptional organizational skills, including managing multiple competing priorities and an ability to adapt quickly to emerging priorities
- Project management skills to manage a project from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines
- Judgment, analytical and problem solving skills with a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and opportunities
- A continuous quality improvement approach to evaluation and program development
- Creative problem-solving skills, sound professional judgment, discretion, tact and maturity
- Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed analytics and reports
- Active listener, concentrating on the interactions and asking questions to clarify or verify information
- Strong customer service skills to handle enquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), with content management systems (such as Cascade) and with databases (such as PeopleSoft)
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, collegial relationships with students, faculty, the public and colleagues across the University
