**What does your day at GIP look like?**

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will assist with the daily management of project(s) including but not limited to the following:

- Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
- Request for quotes from subcontractors and suppliers on a required basis.
- Understand, read, and implement project schedules.
- Use project scheduling and cost control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
- Supervise subcontractors and own forces as required.
- Monitor, record and report production rates and construction progress on a weekly basis.
- Identify, measure and keep a record of quantities as per contract items and assist the project manager in preparation of the monthly payment certificates.
- Implement the environmental/safety/quality control programs as per protocols.
- Assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in the cost coding and cost-controlling process.
- Attend site meetings (as required).
- Job close-outs - responsible for ensuring actions arising from minutes are complete.
- Assist the Project Manager in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
- Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Review field inspection reports from consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Track & manage contemplated change notices and change orders in the database.
- Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may affect safety/quality/client relations and profitability.

- Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technician/Technology Diploma
- Several years’ experience with bridge construction projects including new builds and bridge rehabilitation.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office
- A valid G driver’s license
- Experience with an ERP system (JD Edwards)
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
- Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
