STIHL Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG in Germany, is a leader in the distribution of chain saws and handheld outdoor power equipment in Canada. We have an immediate opening at our London head office for a full-time **Purchasing Manager.**

**The key responsibilities for this position include**:

- Supervise a department of 5 including Spare Parts & Accessories Planner, Purchasing

Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator, Inventory Coordinator and Inventory Clerk
- Manage and foster in excess of 200 vendor relationships
- Procurement of intercompany and third-party goods utilizing a custom software system.

Tasks include: forecast regeneration, communication with production facilities, scheduling of jobs, and demand planning for various promotions
- Planning of all inventory requirements for Canada
- Oversee inventory item Masterfile transactions
- Ensure that the integrity of inventory valuation is maintained for all warehouse locations
- Ensure Corporate goals regarding fill rates and service levels are achieved and maintained
- Oversee the scheduling of inventory to be transferred between 3 distribution centers
- Negotiation of freight contracts
- Responsible for pricing negotiations and new product sourcing
- Co-ordination of all Purchasing Department activities including supervision of team members to ensure effective results

**Skills & Qualifications include**:

- Post-secondary education in a related discipline
- Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) Designation or Certified Professional in Supply

Management (CPSM) Designation preferred
- Five plus years’ experience in a Purchasing role and supervisory experience
- Exceptional skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience working with SAP
- Detail-oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with various departments and develop collaborative relationships
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Strong negotiation skills along with conflict resolution skills
- Initiative and versatility are essential
- Ability to foster strong relationships with vendors
- Knowledge of outdoor power equipment an asset
