As Warehouse Operations Coordinator, you ensure that this active space is efficient, equipped, and safe to support MCC’s world-changing mission.
JOB SUMMARY
Working at MCC Centre in Abbotsford, British Columbia and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Warehouse Operations Coordinator oversees all aspects of MCC’s warehouse, ensuring that MCC’s storage, delivery, programs and events needs are supported with excellence. Responsibilities includes logistics, warehousing, and materials handling for a broad portfolio of internal and external stakeholders; supporting MCC BC’s programs and social enterprises with logistics and space management; maintaining key warehouse and vehicle assets; providing delivery and set-up/take down support for MCC BC events; and creating, managing, and improving MCC BC’s warehouse space and operations.
In this physically active role, the Warehouse Operations Coordinator works in the warehouse and travels to and from other MCC locations, collaborating with colleagues, volunteers, members of the community, and other stakeholders in a manner that reflects Christian integrity, exemplifying the beliefs, values, and mission of Mennonite Central Committee British Columbia in the workplace.
MISSIONAL COMMITMENT, HOURS, LOCATION, & WORKING CONDITIONS
- **Missional commitment**: this role requires a demonstrated commitment to: a personal Christian faith and discipleship; active participation in a Christian church or Christian community; and nonviolent peacemaking. This role commits the employee to working collaboratively to create and maintain an organizational culture that prevents and responds to situations of abuse of power (sexual harassment, child abuse, racism, exploitation, and fraud among other situations). This role participates in devotional and prayer times at MCC BC and/or at local church and faith gatherings, being prepared to answer inquiries about MCC BC’s mission and values. This role contributes to a positive workplace culture based on Christian beliefs and values, while modelling nonviolent peacemaking in the workplace, in the community and the church through respectful interactions with others. This role requires adherence to MCC BC’s Code of Conduct, policies, practices, and procedures, including Workplace Health and Safety.
- ** How much you work**: this is a full-time salaried position working 37.5 hours per week. Supporting special organizational initiatives may require working extended, after or holiday hours, as necessary.
- ** When you work**: regular warehouse operations hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. This role may require extended, after or holiday hours to support warehouse needs, issues, or special organizational initiatives, as necessary.
- ** Where you work**: this position is located at MCC BC’s MCC Centre location in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Duties include frequent travel to other MCC BC locations in the Fraser Valley and greater Vancouver area.
- ** Pace of work**: this position requires working in a professional warehouse and shipping & receiving environment. You may be met with multiple demands at once from volunteers, employees, and beneficiaries; responding positively and adroitly throughout.****:

- **Physical conditions & requirements**: this position works inside the warehouse and outside the warehouse, as circumstances require, in all types of weather, to assist stakeholders or assist with warehouse operations. Appropriate footwear is required; some duties may require the wearing of personal protective equipment. This position requires spending a portion of time seated while driving, on one’s feet, handling goods and lifting and moving heavy objects over 75 lbs. This position will accumulate over 8,000 steps a day on a regular basis.
- ** Interactions with vulnerable populations**: as a busy program location, and following MCC BC safety and de-escalation protocols, this position may require frequent interactions with drug-addicted and street-involved persons, or individuals who are members of vulnerable populations.
