Legal Operations Writer
This is an in-person role based in Toronto, Canada. Prior legal experience is not required._
Legal Operations Writers are our early career operations team members responsible for drafting (writing) and reviewing demand letters. They help ensure that the demand packages we deliver to our clients are accurate, effective and high quality. They're at the front lines of our mission to ensure that personal injury victims receive the consideration they're entitled to.
Our Legal Ops Writers come from a variety of diverse backgrounds - from paralegals, technical/content writers, legal researchers and lawyers to English Literature, Political Science, and Legal Studies majors. If you have a passion for writing and the desire to learn in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.
**What you'll do**:
- Undergo an intensive training program to learn the ins and outs of drafting and reviewing documents using EvenUp’s AI technology, building skills that accelerate your career in the AI revolution.
- Draft demand packages for personal injury cases, review supporting documentation and work with EvenUp’s internal toolkit.
- Deliver immediate value: You'll work with operations associates and leads, wear multiple hats, and take ownership of client experiences.
- Contribute to impactful technology: You will help us build first-of-a-kind technology that will transform an analog industry and leverage data to improve the lives of personal injury victims.
- Work with and learn from a world-class team: You'll be working with high-powered team members who have decades of combined experience at leading technology, AI, personal injury law firms and insurance companies, as well as a founding team with deep expertise in technology, litigation, and finance.
**What we look for**:
- Exceptional English reading, comprehension and writing skills.
- A passion for writing, either in a personal or professional capacity (any industry).
- A startup mindset - willingness to roll up your sleeves and excitement to learn
- Immaculate attention to detail.
- Knowledge of personal injury law is a plus (but not required). The ability and desire to learn is key.
- Comfort with working with technology products in a professional environment.
- Base compensation for this role is $50,000-$60,000 CAD. Team members are eligible for (currently uncapped) performance-based bonuses with a target of an additional $10,000 annually._
**About EvenUp**
EvenUp is a venture-backed generative AI startup that ensures injury victims are awarded the full value of their claims, expanding the $100B+ in awards granted to injury victims every year. Every year, the legal system has made it difficult for millions of ordinary people to seek justice, especially for folks without means or who come from underrepresented backgrounds. Our vision is to help these injury victims get the justice they deserve, irrespective of their income, demographics, or the quality of their legal representation.
EvenUp operates across all types of injury cases, from police brutality and child abuse to California wildfires and motor vehicle accidents. Our ML-driven software empowers attorneys to accurately assess the value of these cases by doing a core part of their workflow (legal drafting), enabling them to secure larger settlements in record time. As EvenUp evaluates more cases, our proprietary data grows, enhancing the precision of our predictions and delivering more value to both attorneys and victims alike.
We are one of the fastest growing startups ($0 to $10M in ARR in
