| What we are looking for
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Data and Technology Governance, the Manager, Technology Governance plays a pivotal role at Payments Canada as a strategic visionary in the realm of technology and data governance.
| A day in the life
The Manager, Technology Governance responsibilities include but are not limited to:
**Technology Governance Operations**:

- Oversee the centralized governance framework across Enterprise Architecture (EA), data governance, and security governance, ensuring policies, principles, and standards are consistently maintained, aligned, and up-to-date.
- Act as the steward for key forums, including the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Standards Review Forum (SRF), managing meeting schedules, documenting decisions, and tracking actions to ensure effective governance processes.
- Drive the creation and maintenance of a business-to-technology capability map, providing actionable insights, identifying gaps and overlaps, and delivering governance metrics and recommendations to support organizational priorities.

**Data and Information Governance**:

- Lead the maturation of the information and data governance function by developing and maintaining frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Oversee the daily operations of the data governance program, including defining roles, access, templates, metadata, and naming conventions for the Document Management System, while promoting effective information classification and handling practices.
- Partner with stakeholders to align data and information practices with organizational objectives, and provide guidance to employees on governance and information management best practices.

**Leadership, People and Team Development**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain a divisional strategy in line with the organizational strategy, designed to enhance or reliably sustain existing services over the longer term, and to proactively identify opportunities for new or amended services.
- Provide strong leadership to the divisional team, ensuring the necessary tools and support are in place to enable the team to be successful.
- Monitor and measure performance of divisional goals against Payments Canada’s strategic goals, and plan to support the corporate scorecard’s objectives.

| What you need to be successful
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, business, information systems or related fields.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in technology governance leadership position with proven ability to manage daily governance operations.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive management and/or leadership experience.
- Experience in creating and managing business-to-technology capability maps and aligning technology capabilities with business priorities.
- Hands-on experience linking business capabilities to technology through capability mapping or similar methodologies.
- Solid understanding of data governance practices, including metadata management, data classification, and lifecycle management.
