We are a rapidly growing team with an entrepreneurial culture providing superior customer service and customized energy solutions. The successful incumbent will play a key role in the Commodities Department helping to manage the North American natural gas, electricity, and carbon portfolios.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Conduct risk analysis on natural gas and electricity procurement strategies to understand and clearly communicate the potential risks and implications to Senior Management and clients - under direction from the VP, Commodities and/or Director, Commodities.
- Conduct analysis and provide recommendations on utility rates (e.g., Industrial Conservation Initiative) and rebates (e.g., OER) analysis and recommendations
- Support cross-departmental teams (e.g., Energy Solutions, Sales & Marketing, Technology, Finance) to analyze, plan, and/or implement programs in support of the broader corporate business strategy and objectives.
- Summarize complex data into understandable, user-friendly, relevant explanations for reporting and knowledge transfer to management and staff
- Creation, analysis, and distribution of reporting to clients consisting of multiyear budget forecasting, consumption performance, portfolio performance, ABC financial summaries, CUSUM, pool, steam, accrual, and custom reporting etc. as required by clients.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new products and services
- Optimization and establishment of client natural gas Daily Contract Quantity (DCQ) and Large Volume Distribution Contract (LVDC) utility parameters.
- Utilization of utility and transportation portals (e.g., Entrac, Enerline, TC Energy, DTE, etc.) in the nomination of natural gas quantities to ensure delivery obligations are being met.
- Assist broader public sector (BPS) clients in reporting their buildings’ annual energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions to satisfy requirements for 25/23 and EWRB.
- Maintain knowledge of U.S. and Canadian energy markets, policies, regulations, programs, rebates, practices, and issues, and stay abreast of current issues affecting energy markets across North America.
- Contribute commodity market commentary in the weekly market intelligence report and provide support and assistance in response to client request for proposal (RFP’s) submissions.
- Assist with the onboarding of new clients to ensure a smooth transition
- Attending relevant energy symposiums and networking events for continued learning.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Strong organization skills to effectively manage multiple projects throughout the life of the project, including post implementation;
- Minimum 2 years experience in energy-related research and analytics;
- Minimum 2 years experience with Canadian and/or U.S. natural gas and electricity markets, utilities, pipeline, systems, electricity trading hubs and distribution systems;
- Completion of post-secondary education in project management, business administration, commerce, economics, or similar program;
- Understanding of strategic planning, data management, financial or economic modeling, performance measurement, and risk management;
- Advanced level of skill in using Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access, and the ability to develop standardized reporting and data management routines. Experience in Power Bi and Python is an asset.
