**Service Advisor Job Description**
**Service Advisor responsibilities include**:
- Greeting customers and assessing their needs appropriately
- Consulting with management and technicians regarding necessary repairs and possible alternatives for customers
- Using your knowledge of our products and services to sell or provide in-depth information about available parts and service options to customers.
- Maintaining consistent communication with customers to ensure all needs are met, and expectations are being exceeded.
- Invoicing customers for completed working a following up on payment.
- Receiving payment from completed jobs and following up on outstanding invoices.
- Putting technicians notes into invoice format and be able to explain to customer what exactly happened with their unit.
- Assessing our customers needs before they need to ask for it. Ensure our customers have the best, hassle-free, worry-free season on the water.
**Job brief**
Goodale Marine is looking for a Service Advisor to join our team and act as a liaison between our customers and our Service Technicians.
Service Advisor responsibilities include greeting customers, listening to their needs, scheduling service repairs, informing customers of repair progress, and completing work orders. They may also include assisting other departments and handling payment from service department customers.
Ultimately, you will work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide our Service Technicians with the information required to provide excellent service from the time the unit is taken in, to after the unit has left the shop. You must remember, the job is not over just because the unit left the shop
**Responsibilities**
- Answer questions about service outcomes, schedule service work, assist with parts ordering and receiving.
- Provide customers with information and advice on warranty protections, potential cost savings and the advantages of trading in versus fixing their unit.
- Manage and oversee the shops workflow and schedule to ensure all technicians have appropriate work for the day.
- Maintain positive customer relationships to ensure repeat business. Our Canadian summers are far too short, so it is imperative that our customers receive quality and timely service.
**Requirements and skills**
- Proven work experience as a Service Advisor or similar role
- A strong understanding of marine parts & service
- Proficiency with industry-specific software (I.e., CDK Lightspeed)
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication expertise
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Valid G Drivers Licence
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card (preferred)

A good service advisor continues communication with the customer throughout the repair process. Whether there are parts delays, quotes, additional repairs, early completion, unknown unit damage, and more, the customer needs to be kept in the loop throughout the entire process. A good service advisor follows up with customers after the unit has left the shop to ensure the customer is satisfied with the repairs we completed. The summer is short, we want to make it count for every one of our customers.
**Who does a Service Advisor work with?**
A Service Advisor works with customers to understand their needs, but they also work with the Technicians to ensure the customer’s unit received the repairs required. A service advisor will also work directly with management to ensure all goals are being met, invoices are being paid, and work is being completed in a timely manner.
**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
