Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Dean, PGP, The Director, Recruitment and Admissions is responsible for all recruitment strategy development, execution, and upkeep within the PGP portfolio. The incumbent will drive implementation of inquiry-enrollment conversion strategy, support the successful execution of recruitment activities, and manage relationships with prospective students and enrolled students. Responsibilities will also include managing relationships with the Marketing department and Program Directors to ensure the budget is properly distributed program to program, that paid, owned, and earned marketing opportunities are maximized, establishing, and tracking benchmarks and ROIs, and leading and setting annual marketing plans.

**Job Description**:

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- In collaboration with Program Directors, develops targeted messaging, collects, and presents market intelligence, and establishes benchmarking.
- Maximizes paid, owned, and earned marketing opportunities.
- Develops, establishes, and maintains a recruitment strategy that focuses on the conversion of quality leads to the best program for that student.
- Ensures that consistent recruitment and admissions practices are in practice across all PGP master’s level programs.
- Responsible for compliance with regulatory, university, faculty, and program policies
- Finds efficiencies in the evaluation process and develops strategies and leverage cutting-edge technologies to lessen existing gaps.
- In collaboration with Program Directors and Director of Digital Transformation and Technology, prioritizes capital expenditures and system improvements.
- Familiarizes oneself with the Smith strategic action plan and finds creative strategies to align recruitment to the Smith strategi priorities.
- Envisions, articulates, and implements plans for achieving all Graduate Programs recruiting priorities
- Assists Program Directors with virtual and in-person events to facilitate enrollment objectives.
- Develop and execute strategies to market “who we are” at Smith
- Works with Program Directors to support / increase and fill appropriate enrolment targets.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master of Business Administration degree, with five or more years’ experience in an equivalent role.
- Proven experience in a senior management and leadership role.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working in a team environment.
- Experience in marketing programs, student services, and admissions.
- CRM knowledge
- Experience working with graduate students

**SPECIAL SKILLS**:

- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Incumbent interacts with many different individuals in a variety of contexts including staff, students, executive level professionals and senior academics.
- Proven management skills demonstrating experience in a management setting with skills in organizing, motivating and directing all individuals and teams to achieve objectives.
- Planning skills to propose new initiatives and participate in strategic planning.
- Excellent organizational skills are necessary to co-ordinate and direct the work of the program staff. Ability to cope with multiple, simultaneous demands and resolve priority conflicts.
- Incumbent must be objective, fair, impartial, and flexible without compromising standards and established policies.
- Analytical and interpretative skills are required. Ability to synthesize information from a wide variety of sources. Ability to conceptualize creative plans and workable solutions for dealing with an array of management problems.
- Empathy and understanding to address complex student concerns and issues related to program delivery and service. Ability to work with diplomacy in resolving interpersonal conflicts.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Financial management skills.

**DECISION MAKING**:

- In conjunction with other senior members of the management team determines:

- How to plan, implement and evaluate promotional and marketing strategies for the program
Appropriate methods to execute promotional strategies including direct advertising, information sessions, website and alumni events.
Appropriate budgets; monitor expenses; manage the program within budget; make recommendations for annual and long term budget planning.
Decide on work allocation and distribution among office staff to ensure the smooth operation of the PGP office.
