- $34.10 - $43.45 /hour $66,501.23 - $84,727.89 /year**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Graduate of a Baccalaureate Degree Program with a major in Food and Nutrition from a University accredited by the Canadian Dietetics Association;
- Successful completion of CDA approved Dietetic Internship;
- Verbal ability to understand and use a technical vocabulary and to communicate effectively when instructing or advising people;
- Dependable, competent and continued ability to carry out responsibilities;
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skill with the ability to function effectively independently, within a team, with front line personnel, and management;
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast paced healthcare environment with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload;
- Dependable with a verifiable acceptable attendance record;
- Proven ability to perform the essential duties of the position on a regular basis.

**BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- 1Plan, evaluate, and carry out the nutritional components of health care delivery for in-patients and out-patients within La Verendrye, Rainycrest Long Term Care, Emo and Rainy River Health Centres.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:

- Plan and prescribe diets to ensure proper nutritional status.
- Provide nutritional assessment, counselling, education, and appropriate follow-up for in-patients and out-patients, upon physician's referral.
- Participate in continuing education programs.
- Act as a resource person for community and corporation personnel on matters of nutrition.
- Participate in relevant research and continuing liaison with community resource groups.
- Assist in the development and presentation of inservices for Department of Dietetics staff, and other corporation staff as required.
- Liaise with physicians and other health care providers on issues relating to nutritional care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and statistical information systems.
- Contribute to quality management activities by developing criteria and maintaining established standards of care, and conducting routine audits as assigned.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures relating to clinical nutrition services.
- Participate in the evaluation of clinical nutrition services.
- Carry out all work assignments safely and be knowledgeable of and in compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures (ie: Occupational Health and Safety Act).
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Food Services Supervisor or designate.
