**About the role**

As the Manager, Trust Deposit Operations you are accountable for the following: engage with stakeholders to identify issues & challenges in understanding and meeting key requirements that protect deposits held at CDIC member institutions in the context of a dynamic financial services sector; assess & communicate key elements of Canada’s deposit insurance framework to stakeholders affected by the CDIC Act, accompanying by-laws and key stakeholder guidance; work with key stakeholders and other groups within CDIC to identify strategies & solutions towards ensuring ongoing adherence to deposit insurance requirements and the protection of deposits held at CDIC member institutions.

This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time permanent opportunity. #LI-Hybrid

**We trust you will be up to the challenge**
- Maintain a strong understanding of the key elements of the deposit insurance framework, including the various requirements set out in the CDIC Act, by-laws and various guidance documentation that impact key stakeholder groups;
- Understand how elements of the deposit insurance framework impact different stakeholders and/or stakeholder groups and engaging with these stakeholders to identify key issues and challenge in meeting these requirements;
- Co-ordinate input from stakeholders, member institutions and relevant CDIC departments in formulating corporate positions and expectations regarding adherence to and ongoing compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements to meet the needs and objectives of the Corporation;
- Develop strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, communicate framework requirements and CDIC expectations regarding compliance with these requirements to stakeholders and act as a resource for stakeholder questions and enquiries;
- Identify relevant and innovative solutions that could be implemented by CDIC or by stakeholders directly to ensure that framework requirements are met;
- As required by the Director, lead stakeholder engagement activities designed to promote strong understanding of key elements of the deposit insurance framework;
- Carry out in-depth analysis of stakeholder processes, procedures and business practices, as well as undertake research and analysis of relevant best practices (e.g., practices in other jurisdictions).

The Manager will also work closely with various CDIC departments and consultants and participates in and contributes to various work groups or other forums that may include representatives from other supervisory bodies, member institutions and their associations and other stakeholder group representatives.

The Manager is responsible for representing the Corporation and communicating the Corporations’ policies and positions to key stakeholder groups and relevant federal, provincial and/or regulatory and supervisory authorities, when required.

The major challenges of the position include the following:

- The requirement to establish and maintain strong professional relationships with a diverse set of stakeholder groups who may have opposing or conflicting interests;
- The requirement to be able to effectively communicate complex information (e.g., regarding legislative and regulatory requirements; CDIC interpretations/expectations, etc.) in a manner that is clear, comprehensive and relevant to their situations;
- the requirement to analyze and synthesize a variety of information, to accurately identify those issues that are significant to the Corporation, its member institutions and other key stakeholders and to help the Corporation build an operational capacity to address these issues to facilitate a member institution’s resolutions, including a liquidation with reimbursement to depositors;
- The requirement to assist the Corporation in its understanding of the key challenges faced by stakeholder groups in meeting legislative and regulatory requirements and guiding the development of appropriate positions that will help the Corporation respond in an effective manner.
