**About the role**
CDIC wants to ensure that end users of deposits and banking-as-a service/embedded finance has timely, easily accessible and enhanced understanding of any applicable deposit insurance protection and work with intermediaries, including brokers and financial advisors, to develop accurate disclosure of protection. It is also important that CDIC keeps a finger on the pulse of the deposit market to stay at the forefront of emerging issues and has a collaborative relationship with intermediaries to ensure proper disclosure of deposit insurance protection.
Manager, Fintech Relations & Disclosure is accountable to the Director, Fintech Relations and 3rd Party Disclosure, and will support the development and execution of a strategy that would permit end users to have a timely, easily accessible and enhanced understanding of any applicable deposit insurance protection when dealing with intermediaries. Manager is also accountable to maintain a finger on the pulse regarding the landscape of the Canadian embedded banking and fintech partnership. The Manager will advise the Director on how to improve the disclosure framework for intermediaries, propose by-law changes, or other changes, if needed, consult and foster collaborations internally and externally.
This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time temporary opportunity (2-years). #LI-Hybrid
**We trust you will be up to the challenge**
- Advise the Director on the development of a strategy that would permit end users to have a timely, easily accessible and enhanced understanding of any applicable deposit insurance protection when dealing with intermediaries and for CDIC to maintain a finger on the pulse regarding the landscape of the Canadian embedded banking and fintech partnership;
- Provide strategic advice on how to improve the third-party disclosure framework and related compliance framework;
- Provide expert support for novel deposit products, banking-as-a-service offerings and players, member institutions partnering with intermediaries and domestic and international developments in this area;
- Support the Director, Fintech Relations and 3rd party Disclosure, for outreach and communication activities with stakeholders to support the engagement strategy;
- Assist the Director, Fintech Relations and 3rd party Disclosure in conducting consultations, meetings, presentations and other liaisons with internal business units, other Financial Institutions Supervisory Committee (FISC) partners, member institutions, relevant industry associations, intermediaries and other interested parties;
- Participate in standing or ad hoc external and internal meetings;
- Develop internal memos and support the Director, Fintech Relations and 3rd Party Disclosure for briefing senior management and CDIC Board of Directors;
- Develop guidance, and other materials for member institutions and stakeholders; and
- Recommend amendments to the CDIC By-laws or other changes to the CDIC Board of Directors. The changes could relate to the development of additional requirements or to the expansion of existing by-laws and supporting material.

- Sound understanding of the Canadian financial system, the operations of financial institutions, the business activities and risks facing the financial services sector, the legislative and regulatory regime in which CDIC members operate and an awareness of national and international trends in the economy and financial services industry;
- Solid (or in-depth) knowledge of the relevant statutes, regulations, by-laws and other regulatory requirements governing member institutions, including the CDIC Act, Bank Act, Trust and Loan Companies Act and the by-laws and regulations made under them;
- Current understanding of and strong interest in innovation and in the emerging deposit and deposit-like products, and the role of fintech in the federal financial sector;
- Ability to deal competently with complex issues and to use initiative and exercise sound professional judgment in implementing appropriate and effective procedures to resolve issues that may arise;
