Maintenance Supervisor

: The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that Maintenance standards and their implementation process meet the established food quality and safety standards, ensuring that Maintenance guidelines are followed effectively and safely. Taking responsibility & ensuring that the workers follow the guidelines related to GMP, adhering to safety, food safety and legislative guidelines. Working closely with Plant Production, the Maintenance Supervisor will train and supervise the crew to respond quickly to management requests related to the general performance and upkeep of the production machines and equipment.
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Supervise and train crews, planning manpower and work organization, and managing absenteeism and conflict.
- Administer appropriate coaching, provide leadership guidance, and continually develop employees as per the department’s needs.
- Track, maintain and order parts and other supplies needed for effective maintenance.
- Manage all maintenance procedures and crew activities to produce results that meet or exceed accepted quality, efficiency, safety standards, and CFIA regulations.
- Implement and maintain a continuous improvement philosophy in all areas of operation.
- Liaise with other departments on maintenance concerns and maintain strong relationships within and outside the organization.
- Conduct daily meetings with the maintenance team to establish priorities and work assignments
- Participate in JHSC initiatives and follow established policies outlined in the Health and Safety policies.
- Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all Quality Systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
**REQUIRED SKILL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers and Managers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
- Ability to accurately maintain detailed records.
- Strong safety focus.
- Flexible & open to working all shifts, including weekend overtime, as required.
- High Proficiency in MS Office.
- Be able to work independently and be a strong team player.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have 3+ years of related Supervisory experience.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possession of a Diploma or post-secondary education with a Technical Certificate preferred.
- Intermediate Computer Skills in Microsoft Office (such as word, excel, outlook, charting and graphing).
- Experience in meat processing an asset
- Be success-driven and have a “can do” attitude.
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and cross-train.
- Ability to assess and prioritize.
