Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is accountable to the Maintenance Supervisor and has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Production Manager. This role is responsible for all activities relating to the repair, modification, and preventive maintenance on production and supporting equipment to maintain production and in accordance with the requirements outlined in Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance according to SOPs and report all deficiencies or unsafe working conditions found to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all production machinery and plant equipment according to maintenance manuals, Best Maintenance Practices, and/or guidance from the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot to determine the best course of action to address breakdowns and repairs.
  • Inspect and test the operation of machinery and systems to diagnose faults using testing devices. Repair and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts.
  • Fabricate replacement parts for machinery and equipment as required using existing machining equipment and a wide array of hand tools.
  • Support the Production unit team. Assist the set-up operator with adjustments where required.
  • Work closely in a collaborative manner with the Maintenance Specialist, Maintenance Planner, and Spare Parts Inventory technician.
  • Participate in the Maintenance Shutdown activities working independently or as part of a team on Maintenance assignments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects as required. Execute related assignments.
  • Observe and support all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies as a member of the ERT (Emergency Response Team).
  • Demonstrate the Company Mission, Vision, and Values Statements, policies, and current standard business practices.
  • Follow GMP and regulatory requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • 433 A Millwright/Trade certification
