The CI Specialist will work on a small team dedicated to delivering the Continuous Improvement Program in the Dartmouth facility, using Lean Engineering tools and techniques.

While your work will lead to improvements in efficiency and productivity, your most significant impact will be on the day to day working environment of our everyone on our team, helping them do what they do best while cutting out waste wherever it exists.- Any given day might also involve picking your kids up from school or running a personal errand, as we offer flexible work hours and support work from both home and office.- Duties include:
- Identify and facilitate continuous improvement projects, training and workshops driving cultural change
- Undertaking of data collection and detailed analysis leading to process and value stream mapping for Production and Business/Engineering processes
- Lead Value Stream Mapping exercises to define current (CSVSM) and future (FSVSM) states
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and design of experiments (DOE) to troubleshoot business and manufacturing issues
- Lead/facilitate improvements identified by Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Sprint events
- Implementation and facilitation of Level 1-4 Kaizen Sprints
- Support Production in lead time improvements and scrap reduction using Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Designing new processes, procedures, and manufacturing systems
- Assist in Lean cell layout design and implementation
- Assist in response to process failures including root cause analysis
- Develop, deliver, and present A3 reports that follow the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) methodology
- Develop and conduct compliance audits and drive corresponding actions, ensuring that change is sustainable
- Act as a change agent within the business to educate and influence Team members on process implementation and improvements
- Facilitate non-production Kaizen Sprints to drive efficiency through business processes in supporting areas (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Human Resources, Quality, etc.)
- Required Abilities, Experience and Qualifications:
- Ability to lead (influence in the absence of authority)
- Industrial Engineering Technology Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience leading and delivering continuous improvement projects/initiatives in a manufacturing company (preferably aerospace/defence)
- Trained in Lean methodologies (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Cell balancing, Standard Work, and Mistake-Proofing)
