The General Practice team is looking for a new teammate to join them in Vancouver. With a strong mandate for growth, we are actively recruiting dedicated and passionate individuals

Your Impact as a Broker, General Practice

**Responsibilities**:
Collaborating with Account Executives in assigned regions to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business.
Analyzing client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements; prepares and presents marketing proposals for renewals and new business;
Negotiating with underwriters to establish the best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage
Providing leadership, mentorship and direction to assist with growth and development of Associate Brokers or other members of the broking support teams
Continually working to develop thought leadership and expertise in the segment through networking, technical training, and market/industry/client discussions
Communicating current trends and issues to interested parties internally and externally
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the underwriting community for the ultimate benefit of the client and the practice
Following up with insurers to confirm terms of negotiated contract(s) are met
In collaboration with other team members, preparing, reviewing and approving client-ready documentation, including: proposals, analysis, comparisons, manuscript policy documents, mid-term changes, new business and renewals

Participating in developing national projects and programs
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

**Required Experience**:
2+ years of commercial insurance and/or marketing/broking experience is ideal
Working collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with mínimal direct supervision
Actively contributing in meetings with senior to executive level underwriters
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills
Ability to prioritize under pressure of challenging deadlines;
Strong digital literacy including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

**Education**:
Post-secondary degree or a combination of education and equivalent years of industry experience
Licensed in British Columbia (Level 1) and ability to obtain other provincial jurisdictions in a timely manner
Completion of or desire to complete at least one professional designation such as: Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP); or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Certified Risk Management (CRM) (Partial completion of one or more designations can be considered on an individual basis)
