**Job Summary**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Parking Enforcement this position is responsible for supervising a team of night shift Parking Enforcement Officers to ensure adherence to the City’s policies, procedures, Enforcement Standard Operating Procedures, Collective Agreement, and City By-laws.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- The incumbent is responsible for the supervision, leadership, coaching, discipline, and training of all Parking Enforcement Officers in the performance of their duties, including preparing and conducting one on one monthly reviews, performance management performance for full and part-time staff ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed
- Perform all duties associated with towing, property sign inspection, Infor and Permit/Consideration monitoring, and escalations
- Monitor ticket issuance and officer performance to ensure departmental objectives are met and maintained and provide regular updates to the Manager
- Monitor daily, the activities of the Parking Enforcement Officers through analysis to ensure effective time management practices of the Officers
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining a schedule, including authorizing vacation requests, to ensure appropriate staff coverage on all shifts in liaison with other Supervisors, including updating the electronic schedule daily
- Conduct initial investigation of complaints and report findings in accordance with the complaint process
- Investigate enforcement activities and prepare written responses to inquiries from the Mayor and Members of Council, staff, and the public relating to parking infractions and situations in dispute in accordance with the established Communications Protocol
- Responsible for providing informational updates to Parking Enforcement Officers and ensuring the traffic and parking by-laws and policies of the City are applied consistently and appropriately
- Responsible for monitoring enforcement activities of all proactive projects ensuring appropriate daily enforcement
- In coordination with the Health and Safety representatives, ensure that proper safety measures are observed and reported by Parking Enforcement Officers at all times and that monthly inspections are completed
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of department equipment such as vehicles, safety circle checks, radios, and other assets as part of the tools for the performance of the Officers
- Responsible for reporting any deficiencies/rectifications in the area of private property or fire route signage; responsible for any towing matters; and damaged City equipment or vehicles
- Accountable for implementation and system control for all City equipment including maintaining records and monitoring equipment loss, equipment damage or malfunction, and equipment misuse by others
- Attend all accident/incident scenes, conduct officer debriefing, ensure appropriate documentation is completed, and provide a report to the applicable stakeholder(s) and the Manager in a timely and appropriate manner
- Recommend to the Manager improvements to the operation of Parking Enforcement; participates on staff committees, including Traffic Safety Council and Health and Safety Committee and project teams, to facilitate results-oriented performance and initiatives for the Parking Enforcement section
- Advise the Manager of day-to-day operations in the field regarding enforcement procedures, issues, and trends and provide written reports, findings, etc. as required
- Present evidence in the Ontario Court (Provincial Division) as required
- Enforce the City of Mississauga traffic by-laws by issuing parking infraction notices throughout Mississauga as required

**Schedule**: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Week 1); Wednesday, Thursday (Week 2)

**Hours of Work: 8:30 PM - 6:30 AM (Night Shift)**

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Graduate of a community college in law enforcement/by-law enforcement program and have 5+ years experience in municipal by-law enforcement or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of demonstrated supervisory, leadership, and team-building skills required
- Must have an excellent working knowledge of the City's parking enforcement by-laws and the Provincial Offences Act, Part II
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills and possess excellent problem-solving skills to deal with City staff and members of the public; use discretion, tact, and diplomacy to competently handle confrontational and potentially hostile situations
- The ability to identify issues and develop strategies for responding is required
- Excellent investigative skills are required to undertake both internal and external investigations
- Knowledge of Autocite, Autoissue, Infor, and iPad tablet is preferred
- Must hold a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and possess a clean driving record acceptable
