Camp Attendant

**Northstar Frontier Services provides remote site services; catering, housekeeping and management to remote work camps for construction, railroad, and mining projects in Canada and the United States.**

- Transportation to work location will be provided by the employer; access to own reliable vehicle is an asset
- Must have valid, unrestricted Class G driver's license
- Criminal background check will be conducted by the employer as a condition of employment
Base rate is $27.50/hour plus daily overtime
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 1 year of general maintenance experience (electrical, plumbing, small machine, generator maintenance, mining labourer, propane, etc)
**Working Conditions**
- Willing to work a minimum 11 hours per day which includes overtime pay
- Comfortable working alone without supervision
- Willing to travel regularly and work in remote areas for extended periods of time
- Exposure to various outdoor weather conditions in all seasons
- Work in damp, dusty, dirty areas and enclosed spaces
- Required to climb up and down ladders up to 14 feet
- Required to handle infectious material (soiled linen and towels)
- Ability to move continuously (push, pull, stretch, walk, bend) during work hours and able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Perform janitorial duties to a fleet of boarding cars which houses railway crew workers. (cars include kitchens, diners, sleepers, wash cars, generator cars, etc.)
- Follow Safe Operating Procedures (sweeping, mopping, cleaning & sanitizing washrooms & common areas, etc,)
- Troubleshoot problems with various systems
- Check & maintain generators (oil levels, fuel levels, antifreeze levels)
- Change filters (oil, water, fuel, air, etc.)
- Maintain chlorine levels in chlorinators
- Maintain microphor toilets, lubricate air system, add bioculture as needed
- Arrange for the service of septic tanks as required
- Check propane, fuel and water levels
- Assist cooks with various duties as required such as loading groceries, laundry, garbage removal, etc.
- Be familiar and comply with MSDS to ensure your personal safety as well as the safety of other members
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
