Summary
Keewaytinook Okimakanak (KO) is a Tribal Council that supports it member First Nations through various programs and services. KO will be providing land based education, cultural awareness, and healing programming at its Tapiola Outdoor Education centre in Thunder Bay. Programming will support many of the KO service areas including health, education, economic development, employment assistance, and more. The position will support the development of the site, assist in coordinating events, develop partnerships, and help maintain the site.

Job Duties

The Programming and site Coordinator Intern is the person who supports site logistics, programming, and event coordination related to KO's land based education, cultural awareness, and healing programming They are responsible for supporting various activities including vetting and contracting vendors, coordinating programming & users, site logistics, site preparation and care, marketing, budgeting, equipment/supply storage, and general site planning.

Aiding in the coordination of the use of property within the many different facets of the organization
- Leading the development of a site plan including engaging KO membership to determine best site use
- Assisting with the development and oversight of programs
- Assisting with program coordination
- Leading site management, maintenance & logistics
- Assisting with document management and reporting
- Assisting with equipment and supply management

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge and experience working with remote First Nations.
- Personable and ability to develop partnerships
- Experience developing and leading with outdoor education activities
- Experience with youth engagement
- Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision.
- High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
- Pro-active, ability to work under own initiative without direction.
- Motivated individual with proven initiative.

Working Conditions
- Travel may be required.
- Ability to work independently
- Possibility of working in inclement weather conditions
- Working with site maintenance equipment (lawnmowers, snowmobiles, ATV)
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
- Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required.

Working with community leadership, members, and KO partners.
