Ecolab, the leading global developer of premium cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance products and services for the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets is seeking a **Logistics Lead Hand (Day Shift)** within our Mississauga Supply Chain team. This role will proactively work with departmental supervisors, coordinators and managers to develop and implement actions to meet logistic goals and deliverables. The position will support the coordination of processes, equipment and people to maintain continuous flow of the Logistic requirements and services.

**What You Will Do**:

- Support development and implementation of work standards to meet safety, productivity and quality goals. Assist in work instruction and procedure development.
- Adhere to and re-enforce all Ecolab policies and immediate stop and report any unsafe acts.
- Ensure all team members, contractors and visitors are wearing the appropriate PPE and acting/working in a safe and responsible and respectful manner.
- Ensure all equipment is safe to operate and operated responsibly.
- Ensure a safe work environment (daily housekeeping and 5S is maintained, etc.).
- Open or secure the facility at the start or end of operations.
- Plan, initiate and assist training of employees to expand job knowledge and the development of a cross-trained workforce based on standard work procedures.
- Actively participate in the development, deployment, and use of best practice improvement systems.
- Assist in work assignment and inventory variance investigation.
- Drive the shift operational activities, ensuring fair delegation of tasks and proper prioritization of work based on the daily plan/departure matrix and KPIs.
- Lead and actively participate in team/department projects and foster an inclusive environment where there is respect for others and their ideas.
- Proactively communicate on daily activities and challenges inherent to processes, maintenance needs, quality issues, or other situations that impact safety, quality, or productivity to Logistics Supervisor and/or the appropriate functional/department leader.
- Work to proactively resolve concerns and issues that may arise during the shift.
- Work closely with Logistics management to implement and roll-out lean and other objectives.
- Promote teamwork among co-workers through 1:1 communications, Safety meetings and daily communication board updates.
- Continually identify opportunities for system and process waste elimination.
- Organize forms and softcopy storage.
- Minimize downtime by assisting Logistics Team Lead/Specialist with coordination of equipment and labour.
- Maintain consumable logistic supplies.
- As required, back up employees and perform Logistic Associate duties to meet distribution schedules.
- Ensure proper communication and shift hand over.
- Act as backup Logistics Team Lead/Specialist as required.
- Perform other related duties as required by business needs and for which the employee is trained.

**Position Details**:

- ** Plant Location**: Mississauga, ON (Tomken Road)
- ** Work week and shift**: Day Shift, Monday to Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- 3 years of Warehouse experience
- Previous knowledge of Warehouse Operations.
- 3 years reach forklift truck experience
- Fork truck certified
- Technical Skills and knowledge of Logistics Associate position

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs

- Ability to multi-task and work effectively/cooperatively in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records.
- Knowledge of safety issues, precautions and potential hazards in and around the work environment.
