**About Our Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the IT/Digital Category Manager provides leadership of a team of Procurement Specialists under the IT/Digital portfolio, by ensure exceptional service delivery is provided to clients while always understanding the “voice of the customer.”

The IT/Digital Procurement team is responsible for the total procurement process for IT/Digital Goods and Services, as it relates to significant business initiatives which include, but are not limited to, supporting and/or leading strategic sourcing activities, tactical procurement, and contract management activities. The IT/Digital Procurement team is instrumental in supporting making Nova Scotia a digital leader by investing in technology to provide positive client experiences and service excellence. The IT/Digital Procurement Team also supports NSHA IM/IT group in fulfilling their procurement activities by supporting their mission to provide a fully integrated, clinical information management and clinical IT support network provincially, to support their customers across the health care continuum.

In a typical work week, you can expect to:

- Deliver category management and strategic sourcing practices;
- Coordinate category plans with clients to develop/update timing of project deliverables, costs, and savings.
- Work with the Operations Manager to provide advice, and ensure the understanding of the future requirements of NS Government and NSH.
- Facilitate issuing complex Request for Proposals, contract negotiations and management, and provide public procurement guidance in best practices and standards.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will have a post-secondary degree in a related discipline (such as Business Administration, Engineering or Commerce), a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior procurement role managing complex procurement projects. An equivalent combination of education and related experience will be considered.
- A leadership style that is driven, energetic and has a high degree of professional integrity.
- Understanding Canadian procurement law, and trade agreements and how they work within public procurement environments.
- Understanding of the sourcing process, and how to execute on each of the phases, such as Assessing Opportunity, Define Requirement, Market Research, Selection, Development and Execution of sourcing strategies, Evaluation Methodologies and Implementation of contracts.
- Organization, time management and motivational skills.
- Public and/or private procurement, developing complex RFPs end to end for clients and negotiating subsequent agreements.
- Project and Change management.
- Analyzing, understanding, and articulating market trends, Total Cost of Ownership, and developing multi-year category management plans.
