Clinical Manager

Reporting to the Senior Clinical Director of Adult Inpatient Service and Psychosis Recovery and Treatment Outpatient Service, Clinical Care and working closely with the Leadership Team, the Manager (full-time, temporary - 18 months) is responsible for providing leadership in a dynamic environment. Leading an inter-professional team that includes Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Psychiatric Assistants, Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Residents, Medical Students and other trainees, the Manager will ensure safe operations and the promotion of best practices in acute mental health and addictions care. The Manager will work closely with Leadership and front line staff on program planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Manager will represent the department both within CAMH and with external stakeholders.
Operational activities include scheduling staff; managing human resources, including recruitment, retention and performance management; as well as team planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The Manager will also support the strong academic mandate of the department, which includes a focus on both the educational experience of trainees, research activities and the ongoing professional development of staff. In collaboration with the Professional Practice Leaders, you will be responsible for the identification and development of educational requirements for staff, providing administrative supervision to members of the clinical team, and for the implementation of evidence based practices. You will be required to support budget planning and monitoring, facilitate the implementation of the CAMH Strategic Plan, and participate in planning and project work.
