Cambridge, Canada Grand River Conservation Authority Full time

The GRCA Engineering Division requires an energetic, independent student to assist with field work to support the water quality and subwatershed planning programs in the Grand River watershed.

The student will spend most of their time outside (weather permitting) working with a full-time Field Technician/Monitoring Coordinator conducting field work activities.

**Responsibilities**:
Field work may include water quality sampling, E. coli sampling at Conservation Area beaches, calibrating and deploying multi-probe data sondes for continuous measurement of water quality parameters, fish community surveys, and benthic macroinvertebrate collection. This position may also assist with the collection of aquatic resource inventory information, including flow surveys and canoe surveys for identification//mapping/sampling of aquatic plants.

Additional duties include data management which will require computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel® to organize and compile data, as well as web-GIS mapping tools to identify field monitoring locations.

Skills/Qualifications:

**Work Period**: April 29, 2024 to August 30, 2024 - 2 positions

**Pay Range**:$18.00 to $20.00 per hour

**Hours of Work**:7 hours per day Monday to Friday

**Location**:GRCA Admin. Centre, Cambridge
