**There is one contract Student Housing Resource - Administrative Assistant position available, starting on June 19, 2023, and ending on August 12, 2023, working 30 hours per week.**

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program (CSJ). CSJ is an initiative to help young people between the ages of 15 and 30, particularly those facing barriers to employment, get the information and gain the skills, work experience and abilities they need to transition successfully into the labour market.

**Y O U R R O L E**:

- Works with the Housing Services Administrative Team to provide support to the Housing Services team and the individuals, couples and families they service to equip them with the skills, resources and supports necessary to obtain and maintain housing.
- Develops and updates housing resources and works with the Housing team to ensure a coordinated approach to meet the needs of those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

- Demonstrates high levels of customer service, active listening skills and a supportive and nonjudgmental approach with individuals, couples and families accessing services.
- Resilient with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a variety of staff.
- Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and focus on attention to detail and problem-solving.
- Reliable with strong personal and time management.
- Familiarity with the local housing market, Residential Tenancies Act and community resources is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office dynamics, Microsoft Edge.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of office equipment.
- Alignment with the agency’s commitment to antiracism and anti-oppression.
- Demonstrates a passion and willingness to learn antiracism and anti-oppression practices.

**A D D I T I O N A L R E Q U I R E M E N T S**:

- Have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year.
- Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year.
- Is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP, vocational or technical program.
- Is not attending full time classes while carrying out the job.
- Is between the age of 15 and 30.
- Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person w\on whom refugees status has been conferred.
- Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
- Does not have another full-time (30 hours or more per week) summer job.
