**Schedule**: 3pm-7:00pm, Monday to Friday

**Compensation**: $19-$22 per hour

**About Banff Avenue Community House (BACH)**:
Banff Avenue Community House is a non-profit organization situated in the heart of a low-income social housing neighbourhood in South-East Ottawa. The Community House’s overarching goal is to offer a safe, inclusive space where individuals, children/youth and families can gather, connect, and access a variety of supportive programs and services that are beneficial to the community in which we serve.

**Job Summary**:
The Child and Youth Program Supervisor is someone who is enthusiastic about working with young people and willing to create positive experiences through program connections. They are a team player, eager to support the overall wellbeing of participants to reach their full potential. The C/Y Program supervisor objectives are to mentor staff, students and volunteers through program development, training, and ongoing learning opportunities. Another key role of this position is to build the capacity of participants 6-18 years of age to reach their full potential academically, physically and socially through a learning stations, one on one tutoring, STEAM and literacy activities in a fun stimulating environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To provide leadership, guidance and support to staff, volunteers and students.
- Organize and conduct workshops/trainings for program team.
- Set up program structure, budgets, planning, schedules, excursions, snacks, and special events
- Oversee all program assessments to ensure it is aligned with program standards and completed in a timely manner
- Work with Program Team on planning and program goals
- Promote healthy and active living through program activities.
- Complete all administrative duties related to this position such as; program promotions, registrations, attendance, acknowledgement plans, and reports.
- Work collaboratively with all members of the Community House and community to support a holistic approach to supporting vulnerable children and their families.
- Build strong connections with parents, and neighbors through regular outreach, promotions and communications
- Complete workplans, and staff assessments with Community Support Coordinator to align with the organizational mandate, vision, and values.
- Carry out the outlined impact strategies to ensure to quality program delivery services.
- Ensure the program is inclusive for all, and set up for opportunities, learnings and social connecting.
- Track and complete any program evaluations requirement such as reports, data collections and measurement tools for measurable outcomes.
- Assume other responsibilities as needed to meet organizational objectives

**Qualifications**:

- Must have or be currently enrolled in post-secondary program related to Child Studies, Education and/or Recreation; or equilvalent
- Must have a minimum of 1+ years in a supervisory position.
- 2+ years working with marginalized children and youth.
- Certified or willing to obtain certification in Standard First-Aid/CPR mandatory
- **Have or willing to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check**:

- Have strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anti-discriminatory, anti-racist, equity, and inclusion framework practices.
- Have a strong knowledge of child developmental stages for age-appropriate activities.
- Bilingualism will be considered an asset; French, Arabic, Somali, Creole, or other languages commonly spoken among Black communities in Ottawa
- Legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the employment period.
