**Position: School Age Summer Camp staff**

S.P.I.C.E. of Life Child Care Centre is looking for qualified Summer Camp staff to support the delivery of the Centre’s weekly Summer Camps, for children ages 5-12.

Hours: This position can be 1 full-time, or 2 part-time, positions as follows:

- Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm (Full-time; 40 hours/week)
- Or, 2-3 days/week (16 or 24 hours/week), 8:30 am-4:30 pm

Wage: $17-19 per hour, depending on experience

Dates: Summer position(s): June 26 to August 18, 2023 (8 weeks). However, this position may start earlier or be continued as a regular School Age Educator working in the Centre’s Before and After School Care program.

Requirements**:Relevant and recent training in working with school age children**

(Responsible Adult certificate is a definite asset)
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Criminal Record Check clearance
- Minimum of 19 years of age
- Responsible person who takes initiative and is self-motivated
- Experience developing and delivering activities for children, or motivated to learn
- Previous experience working with school age children
- Problem solver / solution-focused
- Able to work well independently as well as within a team environment
- Reliable (transportation to and from the Centre)

Responsibilities: implementation of the Centre’s weekly summer camps.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Establishing strong connections with the children.

2. Supporting the delivery of activities and field trips.

3. Actively participate in planning, leading and implementing activities.

4. Engaging the children in daily routines and activities/experiences.

5. Supporting the arrival and departure of the children and their belongings.

6. Cleaning and sanitizing tables, furniture, toys, and dishes.

7. Supporting and modeling healthy meal time practices.

8. Encouraging collaboration in group and social play and guiding as necessary the children’s play.

9. Supervise the children to ensure safety during inside and outside play.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-24 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
