**Purpose Driven Position**
CarbonCure is looking for an experienced Corporate Controller to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Corporate Controller will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company. As a key member of the Finance department, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing and maintaining robust internal controls, and scaling financial and operating systems.
The Corporate Controller will be instrumental in driving the financial success of the company by capturing and reporting financial data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing effective financial controls and operations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to navigate a fast-paced start-up environment.
**What you’ll be doing**
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis.
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and accounting systems
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
**What you’ll need to succeed**
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
- CPA designation required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting and minimum 3 years of experience in a controller role leading a full cycle accounting team required.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP financial reporting standards and complex accounting transactions is highly desirable.
- Experience in a start-up or high-growth environment is highly desirable.
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience working in a multi-currency environment preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide actionable recommendations.
- Proficient in financial management systems and software, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
