**Position**:Supply Chain Manager
**Location**: Vancouver, BC, Canada / Oak Ridge, TN, USA
General Fusion is transforming how the world is energized by developing the first commercially-viable fusion power plant. Fusion will deliver clean, safe, and on-demand power at industrial scale, providing a powerful complement to renewables and a pathway to a zero-emissions grid.
Combining new technologies, proven industrial processes, and advances in fundamental fusion science, General Fusion aims to be the first in the world to develop commercial fusion power. Key performance requirements have been demonstrated at the system level, setting the stage for building a pre-commercial fusion power prototype.
**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role will serve as the manager of the Supply Chain organization, with overall responsibility for supplier performance and associated schedule, cost, and technical performance. The successful individual will build a supply chain organization to ensure the on-time/on-budget procurement of the first of its kind hardware for prototype and commercial power plants.
**Key Responsibilities**:
The scope of responsibility will include
- Overall responsibility for supplier performance and associated schedule, cost, and technical performance
- Establish the framework and process workflows for procurement activities
- Material forecasting and inventory management
- Supplier contracts management
- Define specific procedures and forms required for project procurement execution
- Drive optimization of design for manufacturing and assembly
- Management of strategic/large supplier relationships
- Management of strategic/large supplier performance
- Primary interface between engineering/finance and strategic/large suppliers
- Evaluate and select systems and reporting tools required for project procurement execution
- Ensure a high standard of business ethics in dealing with all bidders/suppliers/contractors
**Requirements**:
Required:
- 10 years of supply chain management experience
- Background in purchasing, contract management and logistics
- Familiar with industrial supply chain processes
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
- Familiar with the engineering process for custom made, large complex first of its kind systems, structures, and components
