**Job** Summary**

The Policy Analyst, **HSJCC Community Reintegration** Lead** will help lead and support the operationalization of the HSJCC Community Reintegration (CR) Planning Tables, a partnership between the Provincial HSJCC and the Ministry of the Solicitor General. Working closely with the CR Planning Tables Working Group (PTWG), CR Planning Table Co-Chairs, and the HSJCC Community Reintegration Coordinator, the Policy Analyst will provide project management and policy support to the Planning Tables. The Policy Analyst will provide policy support and consultation expertise for the P-HSJCC CR Planning Tables and will liaise with the CR Table Co-Chairs and Coordinators, P-HSJCC Secretariat Team, and Ministry of the Solicitor General Community Reintegration Unit as part of the PTWG.

**Core** Responsibilities**
- Providing overall policy support to the newly developed CR Planning Tables, supporting consultation, their development and evaluation.
- Working alongside the P-HSJCC Consultant to provide policy support in the development of the CR Planning Tables framework and to conduct engagement with stakeholder groups during the planning phase.
- Advising the CR Planning Co-Chairs in the operationalization of CR Planning Tables.
- Working alongside the CR Coordinator to assist quarterly reporting with the P-HSJCC CR Planning Tables and providing regular updates to the PTWG.
- Investigating trends and opportunities, coordinating projects and subprojects that convene multiple stakeholders and supporting a community of practice.
- Reviewing legislation and public policy and recommending policy options to contribute to the Community Reintegration Planning Tables.
- Appraising service delivery approaches utilized in the criminal justice system (through policing, courts, and correctional services) as well as in the mental health and addictions system, identifying options and monitoring system performance
- Designing and analyzing surveys or focus groups, as well as extracting, analyzing and reporting secondary data that supports the policy functions of the P-HSJCC.
- Preparing briefs, reports, policy submissions, and presentations, and providing policy advice and leadership to the PTWG and P-HSJCC, often working in collaboration with the HSJCC Network.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant research studies, issues, and trends impacting on the criminal justice and human service sectors and identifying common themes to prepare clearly articulated written analyses and short papers.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of statistical sources related to community reintegration as well as mental health and substance use issues as well as other complex human service needs and participating in the development of knowledge transfer resources.

**Skills & Experience**
- Graduate degree in public policy, criminology, criminal justice, social work, law, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management
- policy development, policy analysis, or research is required.
- Familiarity with the Criminal Code of Canada and Youth Criminal Justice Act is an asset.
- Working knowledge of the criminal justice sector and the intersections between the justice and human service systems is required.
- Working knowledge of pathways through the justice system is required, specifically with regards to community reintegration.
- Working knowledge of the issues faced by accused persons with mental health concerns is required, including issues relating to housing, homelessness, and employment.
- Experience working in multi-sectoral partnerships and liaising with non-governmental organizations and government agencies, and knowledge of the public policy environment in Ontario is required.
- Experience managing projects and managing multiple tasks within established timelines in a team environment is required.
- Familiarity with key concepts of mental health promotion, health equity, and social determinants of health is an asset.
- Work experience in the community sector is an asset.

**Working Conditions**
