**Community Administrator (6-Month Term)**

**INVEST OTTAWA - Venture Programs**

**WHY THIS ROLE?**
Bayview Yards is Ottawa’s one stop business acceleration shop and the first entrepreneurial hub of its kind the National Capital Region. Invest Ottawa is the lead economic development agency for knowledge-based industries that serves Ottawa’s hottest technology startups. The IO Venture Development team is looking for an organized, creative individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be working closely with the Community Engagement Strategist to support programs and events for early and growth stage technology companies.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:

- Supporting the planning and execution of Hybrid/In-Person events;
- Pulling together post-event surveys and creating a summary report of the feedback;
- Onboarding and offboarding various tenants
- Build, edit and manage multiple newsletter
- Tracking newsletter and Slack data on a weekly basis in Excel;
- Inputting event attendance into Microsoft Dynamics;
- Conducting research on relevant SaaS platforms that startups use;
- Reaching out to SaaS platforms to sign them up as a startup Perk
- Writing short, promotional blurbs for upcoming events & workshops, newsletters;
- Assist in managing a slack workspace and creating posts for startup community
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.

**DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Experience using Canva (or other graphic design tools)
- Familiar with creating and managing virtual events through Zoom
- Familiar with planning and executing in-person events
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varied deadlines;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Self-starter who is highly motivated and takes initiative.
