**General Accountability**:

- Assists with the supervision and leadership of the section. This involves project management activities, administrative duties, program development, ensuring subordinates are properly trained, along with other responsibilities as necessary. Supervises day-to-day activities related to the work in the section (e.g., inspection, installation, rehabilitation, maintenance, construction, equipment repairs, etc.). The role may be responsible for the financial control and reporting for capital projects. Will perform related duties as assigned.
- Will also be required to supervise capital rebuild programs such as, component repair/overhaul activities. This includes but is not limited to; managing the overhaul and repair of Low Floor streetcar fleet parts no longer covered by OEM warranties; responsible for the oversight of all electrical, electronic and mechanical components rebuilt at Leslie Barns; analyze and complete a make vs. buy decision on all components being rebuilt to ensure that the operation is efficient; utilize external vendors or buy new when internal work is not the most competitive option; and schedule the preventative maintenance tasks associated with the capital rebuild program and ensure all material is available when required.
- The incumbent(s) may be required to work at various Streetcar Maintenance department facilities, in accordance with operational needs. This position manages a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation and is required to be available to deal with unusual or emergency situations outside of normal working hours; work involves various shifts and off days as per business needs.**Key Job Functions**:

- Supervise and coordinate the daily work activities of a unionized and non-unionized workforce with an emphasis on safety, operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and resources, enabling high work-performance and open communication necessary to maintain the up-keep of the assigned facility on a 24-hour, 7-days per week basis.
- Assist in the preparation of the financial budget and preparation of various documents and reports for the facility.
- Ensure all employees are properly trained in work and safety procedures, maintaining a harmonious work environment.
- Develop, maintain and adjust work schedules, in accordance with safety practices, and changing priorities, weather conditions, etc.
- Ensure timely and efficient maintenance services involving inspection, repairing, cleaning and preparation/delivery of vehicles for revenue service; or providing carhouses with major and minor repairs to the bodies, trucks and electrical portions of vehicles, the supply of various repaired/overhauled/modified electrical, mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic components or responding to all regular trouble calls and emergency situations to operating streetcar lines.
- Ensure the appropriate number of vehicles are available to support daily schedule requirements of service or carhouse operations or monitoring mainline operations to ensure adequate service line coverage.
- Recommend and implement new improvements to equipment and/or methods of work, developing and revising work methods/procedures.
- Develop and administer standards to ensure efficiency, quality of work, safety, and effective performance.
