Supervisor Rail Testing

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
As the Supervisor Rail Testing you will operate CPKC owned ultrasonic test equipment. Provide accurate information on the results of the days work that will trigger rail replacements.

**POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Drive CPKC owned vehicle and rental cars to locations to perform daily testing
- Operate and maintain CPKC owned ultrasonic rail testing equipment on various segments on their assigned territory
- Calibrate and ensure equipment is up to standards to perform quality inspections
- Responsible for daily contact with the Roadmaster for collaborative ways to keep Rail Flaw Detection equipment on schedule and hit production targets
- Take track protection and abide by all safety rules to ensure everyone goes home safe
- Perform quality work ensure the safe passage of trains in compliance with the SPC and Red Book by issuing the appropriate protective slow orders
- Required to be on call on a regular basis outside of normal business hours and workdays
- Work 2 weeks ON and 1 week OFF schedule (travel required to get to work and back home)

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- High School diploma or GED
- Drivers License
- Previous Rail road experience is an asset
- Trained in Rail Flaw Ultrasonic testing is preferred but not required
- Instrumentation and testing experience in other disciplines is an asset
- High proficiency in using a computer and troubleshooting ability
- Proficiency in using tools to make mechanical repairs to equipment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills

**Management Conductor Program**:
