**Job Purpose**

The Construction Onboarding Administrator is primarily responsible for the efficient and timely arrival of employees and subcontractors to the Project Site(s).

**Responsibilities**:

- Displays a commitment to Waiward’s incident-free vision, values, and culture.
- Supports the effective Employee/Labour relations activities by maintaining a strong focus on customer service, knowledge of collective agreements, employment terms and relevant employee/labor legislation.
- Conducts resource planning with the Human Resources and projects team to understand and execute required staffing levels needed to satisfy construction operational needs.
- Submits requests for people power to unionized trade unions as per project requirements.
- Runs and maintains the Employment Management Site on SharePoint.
- Ensures all new workers both unionized and non-unionized have satisfied their employee hiring obligations as defined by both their classification and site access requirements.
- Coordinates mobilization for workers and subcontractors, including site access/badging, booking flights and camp accommodations if applicable.
- Tracks orientation hours to be paid to new hires and existing employees.
- Works with Time Administration to determine if employees have had all orientation and other payable hours entered/paid in a timely fashion.
- Sends daily arrival reports to all construction sites.
- Works closely with the finance team to ensure all commercial flight costs are captured and tracked as needed.
- Acts as an employee liaison and provide necessary support to supervisory team members when required.
- Assists with various other administrative based tasks and Human Resources related reporting as per client requirements on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- 1-3 years previous experience in unionized construction industry or onboarding experience is considered an asset.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills that are complimented by effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to work within a fast-paced environment and maintain a high-volume workload.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and demonstrate effective group facilitation skills.

**Working Conditions**

This position will be based either in the Edmonton Office or may work remotely from home.

The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office routines.

**Physical Requirements**

The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to sit for extended periods of time and communicate with construction employees regularly.
