**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Program Manager, Office of Research and Innovation, the Research Program Coordinator provides a broad range of support to facilitate the development and management of research activities at the College.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Facilitates the implementation and project management of applied research projects.
- Responsible for drafting project plans, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) documents, budgets, and other project documents for research projects.
- Aligns activities within each project to ensure deliverables and expectations can be met in terms of deadlines and resource requirements.
- Liaises with Principal Investigators to offer various types of support that will contribute to the success of the project.
- Administers changes in project scope and consults on potential risks as well as related contingency plans and recommends necessary follow-up actions.
- Contributes to the financial management of grants and awards by liaising with Finance and researchers to ensure funder requirements are met and assist in the interpretation of funder guidelines.
- Tracks and records all existing and new research equipment in the inventory management system. Initiate regular communications with academic contacts to monitor equipment scheduling and status.
- Tracks expenditures against procurement budgets and ensures that all laboratory financial operations comply with GBC’s and funder requirements.
- Advises and supports the ORI on complex issues related to all areas of research infrastructure management.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Educational and Experience Requirements**:

- Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Project Management or a related area.
- Minimum three (3) years’ research project management experience in an academic institution.**Skills and Attributes:
- Demonstrated understanding of a research study environment familiar with grants and funding.
- Solid attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to disseminate complex information to a variety of stakeholders respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience, and needs.
- Able to travel between campuses as required and to partner locations for project team meetings on a monthly basis.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills at a professional level.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.
