**Position Summary**

Under the direction of the Jordan’s Principle Implementation Team Lead, the incumbent is responsible for policy issues analysis, strategic policy development, and drafting policy options and recommendations for the facilitation, communication, and coordination of the Jordan’s Principle Technical Advisory Group (TAG) as part of the First Nations Jordan’s Principle Equity Roundtable. The First Nations Jordan’s Principle Equity Roundtable consists of the TAG, a First Nations Advisory Table (currently the AMC Women’s Council), and a Senior Tripartite Table. The Equity Roundtable oversees a First Nations in Manitoba approach to the full implementation of Jordan’s Principle, including the federal government’s response to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal decisions and the Province of Manitoba’s approach to implementing Jordan’s Principle on and off-reserve. The incumbent will assist in aligning and conceptualizing research and policy development to support the regional implementation of Jordan’s Principle, all aspects of the Equity Roundtable including the TAG objectives and workplan, and the Jordan’s Principle Capacity Enhancement Centre.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with activities in the development of the long-term implementation of Jordan’s Principle by AMC member First Nations TAG representatives and facilitate the development of various corresponding policy approaches to give it effect at the local, regional, and national levels.
- Formulate policy options and recommendations for the reflection of AMC member First Nations and TAG representatives and inform regional and national activities to support the long-term implementation of Jordan’s Principle for AMC member First Nations.
- Operationalize the TAG terms of reference, strategic plan, annual work plan, and reports, through attendance and co-chairing duties at TAG meetings, serving as a liaison for the TAG on Jordan’s Principle matters to the First Nations Advisory Table and the AMC Grand Chiefs Office.
- Assist with policy and research work for the establishment and operations of the Jordan’s Principle Capacity Enhancement Centre as a virtual centre of excellence that brings together the capabilities, knowledge and expertise of AMC member First Nations and TAG representatives to implement Jordan’s Principle at the local and regional level.
- Provide policy and strategy development support to TAG and subcommittees.
- Provide research, analysis, and recommendations in support of regional processes for implementing new or revising existing policies of the TAG.
- Work directly with the TAG co-chairs and administrative support through verbal and written communication regarding creating meeting agendas, disseminating meeting minutes, and inviting specialists and resource persons as required.
- Work directly with the TAG co-chairs in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports, as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor of Social Science or a related discipline and/or a related equivalent demonstrated
- Experience in supporting meetings using consensus-style/Robert Rules of Order decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of statistical methods, techniques, and information to develop analytical frameworks and/or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of First Nations/Indigenous research methods and
- Knowledge of First Nations, culture, history, treaty, and inherent
