City Arts Centre is centrally located in Garneau, but we also offer many art programs at various City of Edmonton recreation facilities across the city of Edmonton including: ACT, Central Lions, Clareview, Dr. Anne Anderson, Jasper Place Annex, John Janzen Nature Centre, Terwillegar, Millwoods, Muttart, Orange Hub, Terwillegar, Yorath House, and the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Art activities are offered throughout the year and provide self-expressive and artistic opportunities for families, retirees, school children, and people of all abilities and socioeconomic levels.

City Arts offers child, youth, family and adult art classes. Our friendly instructors and reasonable cost make learning art fun and affordable. Through curriculum based classes we feature a wide range of mediums including: Animation, Baking/Cooking, Cartooning, Crafts, Dance, Mind + Body, Music, Pottery, Silversmithing, Stained Glass, Theatre, Visual Arts and and Writing

**Job Opportunity**

Reporting to the Program Manager, Program Coordinator - Child/Youth is responsible for the successful planning and implementation of registered arts programs, which include around 100 classes per semester (400 on average per year) in visual art, pottery, dance, music, theater, and cooking alongside other activities offered at City Arts Centre and 13 or more outreach locations within the City of Edmonton. Key responsibilities will be liaising with other City of Edmonton partners with the allocation of space to ensure positive delivery of programs, oversight of all program logistics including staffing, scheduling, art equipment maintenance, supplies and support to instructional staff. In addition this position will be responsible for supervising the Program Assistant and 30+ Program Specialists. The Coordinator ensures the smooth running of visual, performing and cooking programs and is responsible for all administration of classes in the Move/Learn/Play website alongside student and parent interactions outside the classroom. Program participants range from preschool aged children to teens. This position requires a confident professional with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities.in a high demand environment.

- Provide day to day supervision, coaching and mentoring of Program Specialists and administrative staff in collaboration with Program Manager
- Provide leadership in developing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating new and established Arts programs within registration, revenue and expenditure guidelines
- Ability to prioritize tasks, strong sense of time management and a high level of attention to detail when planning, developing and implementing four program seasons and maintaining working timelines and deadlines
- Recruit, onboard, supervise, retain and evaluate staff and volunteers as required for the effective delivery of programming
- Arrange personal and required staff training (peoplesoft,etc) and maintain facility orientation and all safety and certification documents
- Monitor program budget and complete all procurement payment procedures Develop programs within established registration, revenue and expenditure guidelines
- Coordinate facilities, supplies, equipment and registration informationDirect day-to-day, Child/Youth programs, check registered, waitlists and collaborate with administration for registered program callouts
- Develop program resources such as curriculum, participant handouts and procedural manuals for instructional staff and support volunteers
- Perform classroom observations, evaluations and lesson plan reviews
- Complete all necessary follow-up on customer concerns and comments with regard to programs
- Provide status reports on all program related activities, including customer satisfaction and feedback, attendance and fill rates
