Standards and Protocols Specialist

The Standard Specialist will lead the development of standard protocols which accelerate the interoperability and scalability of FLO. In this role, the Standard Specialist will become expert in the three pillars of FLO:
- EV - EVSE communication: J1772, ISO15118-2, -20
- EVSE - CPO communication: OCPP1.6, OCPP2.0.1
- CPO - eMSP/Hub communication: OCPI2.1.1, OCPI2.2.1
This role will be influential internally and externally with time required at industry working groups to keep tracks of the evolution of the EV charging ecosystem worldwide.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- Contribute to the development of OCPP by representing FLO and participating in the technical working groups managed by the OCA.
- Contribute to the development of OCPI by representing FLO and participating in the technical working groups managed by the EVRF.
- Work with architects, developers, designers and product owners to build and maintain the internal and external interoperability of our ecosystem.
- Communicate trends of the industry to internal stakeholders.
- Support our sales and regulatory teams in providing expert opinions.
- Identify relevant protocols FLO should be participated in discussion with and support in the future.
- Participate/Organize in FLO Internal Technical Committees to share knowledge.
- Contribute in the company’s strategy and business models to monetize software solutions.
- Represent FLO in relevant conferences and events.
**ABOUT YOU**
- 2 to 5 years of recognized experience in the EV industry in North America or Europe.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical degree or demonstrate strong understanding of communication protocols and internet technologies such as Websockets, RESTful API, potentially XMPP, MQTT, and others.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the following concepts:
- Charge Point Operator
- eMobility Service Provider
- Internet of Things
- Smart Charging & Demand Response
- Interest in bidirectional charging concept.
- Good knowledge of digital product development processes including Agile
- Know how to capture customer and user needs and translate them into use cases to be consumed by the architects and committees.
- Collaborative nature and willing to share knowledge across FLO
- Mentor and develop other resources on the team
- Excellent communicator who knows how to adapt his level according to the audience
**YOUR ASSET**
- Although not required, knowledge of French is a plus.
