Interior Heavy Equipment Operator School is the industry leader for hands-on equipment training A-Z. We train new operators, and work closely with existing operators on live job sites. We offer courses at our training centres across western Canada, additionally, we bring courses to local communities and our company partners at their jobsites. A leader in operator training, assessments, work-site investigations and operations, teaching and documenting is what we do best
As a go-to resource for many work sectors, public & private stakeholders, along with our many Indigenous partners, we are currently experiencing tremendous growth and demand. To continue to provide exceptional customer service and meet industry needs, we have an immediate opening in Central British Columbia.
Our Business Development team is incentivized to grow and win along the way, earning high commissions on each sale. We provide a minimum base salary and a typical salesperson in this role can easily earn six figures plus. You will also participate in a comprehensive benefits program (medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage) and an optional RRSP company matching program. Qualifications/JD Needs
Overview:
- Highly organized and efficient in time management, able to meet strict deadlines and willingness to complete work outside normal business hours if/when required.
- Considers strategic planning around client relationship development and revenue generation
- Self-starter who initiates and seeks out relationships in the industry and community to generate opportunities
- Puts together and synthesises relevant market and industry data to build customer acquisition lists
- Provides input to strategic marketing plans for new industry commercial and civil client areas
- Fosters relationships and client base for repeat business and client referrals
- Directly contributes to business goals through uncovering opportunities, new clients, complementary subsectors through research and networking
- Identifies, assesses, and recommends clients to pursue
- Penetrates and grows relationships in both public and private sectors
- Keeps up to date client information and touch points within our Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Prioritizes business development activities in relation to company strategic needs/asks
- Prepares reports/analysis for management review upon request by Director, Business Development. Including activity and ROI assessment for strategic decision making.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil/construction, equipment/operations and/or project development
- Current network within the commercial and civil construction industry in Alberta is desirable
- Proven business development track record
- Proven experience working in a team environment
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in business administration, business management, marketing, communications, construction, or a related discipline or equivalent an asset
- Excellent communication skills both, written and verbal; expresses self clearly and effectively; uses proper organization and grammar in written communication
- Is persuasive; uses appropriate methods and styles of communication to gain acceptance of an idea, plan, activity, or product
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office, Microsoft Teams, and CRM Software systems
- Understanding of proposal development and delivery in an industrial setting
