**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee YOU’s social media strategy and platforms, including the YOU website.
- Create awareness of programming / engage the community in donating, volunteering, attending events, and shopping at the YOU Store.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and measuring external and internal communications plans.
- Develop written materials for media.
- Build relationships with key media contacts and identify opportunities to raise awareness about YOU’s mission, vision, and values.
- Assist in the development and implementation of branding-building initiatives.
- Review all communications materials to ensure accuracy and consistency, and reflect YOU’s brand.
- Provide guidance to ensure coordination and communication of messages to both internal and external audiences.
- Develop and implement an online communications strategy ensuring alignment with the internal communications strategy.
- Coordinate and participate in public speaking opportunities.
- Engage and support youth in sharing their lived experience.
- Support youth and staff with interview and public speaking preparation.
- Reviewing and arranging venues, entertainers, speakers, accommodation, transportation, catering, signage, promotional materials, procurement, and security.
- Establish and monitor event budgets.
- Assess full reports on events organized which include obstacles and opportunities,
- Coordinate internal events, including the Breakfast for YOU.
- Compile monthly internal reports on special events and speaking engagements; noting key outcomes and recommendations.
- Engage special event and fundraising committee volunteers.
- Secure and steward sponsors, donors, and in-kind donations.
- Develop processes for third-party events and steward relationships with committees and event coordinators.
- Establish, maintain, and report on the roster of volunteers, performance, recruitment, and workplace campaign.
- Promote the event through print, online, and traditional media.
- Engage and support youth with lived experience in events.
- Engage leadership and YOU staff team in events.
- Lead recruitment and onboarding of volunteers.
- Provide training and supervision to volunteers supporting fundraising, events, and third-party fundraising efforts.
- Create and promote opportunities for volunteer engagement.
- Coordinate group teambuilding volunteer opportunities.
- Create and maintain a volunteer database in a format agreed upon to support effective overall volunteer management.
- Report volunteer activities including the Volunteer Stewardship program, volunteer engagement, training activities, and key outputs generated through volunteers.
- Create processes and documents as needed to support effective volunteer programs and ensure alignment with other volunteer program processes in place at YOU.
- Report any violations of the Health and Safety Act or the regulations, or the existence of any hazard.
- Ensure all workplace incidents are reported in a timely manner in accordance with legislation, and YOU policies and procedures for workplace injuries and incidents.

**Qualifications**:

- This position requires completion of post-secondary education at a college or university level.
- Minimum Five (5) years experience in a similar role or a related field.
- Experience working with or for non-profit organizations, particularly in a community engagement capacity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The Manager must be dynamic and highly organized, must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective professional relations with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s public image and orchestrating a wide range of events.
- Ability to effectively communicate the organization's mission and goals to diverse audiences.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partners.
